Description
Plana Low Table by Charlotte Perriand for Cassina. Desinged in 1969 for the Japanese Embassy in Paris is this coffee table made of solid wood showcasing complex technologies yet a simple aesthetic. Inspiration derives from when Perriand witnessed a huge rock being undercut and eroded by the ocean waves rendering it smooth. The contrast between the figurative impact and the rational perception of the real weight of the piece are what make it unique. Thanks to the meticulous manufacturing techniques employed, the table is able to withstand the risk of warping, which is the usual fate of wooden objects. Available in Black Stained Oak, American Walnut or Matt Black Lacquer. Please contact the store for more info
