Description

DSR Eames Plastic Side Chair RE – now made from recycled plastic. The Eames plastic chair is a contemorary version of the legendary Fiberglass Chair designed in 1950. It was originally produced in collaboration with Zenith Plastics for the Museum of Moderm Art’s Low-Cost Furniture Design Competition and was the first industrially manufactured plastic chair. The acronym stands for Dining (height) Side (chair) Rod (base). The DSR is available with a chrome base, or a basic dark powder coated base suitable for outdoor use.

As of January 2024, Eames plastic chair shells are manufactured by Vitra from post-consumer recycled plastic (see below). Due to the composition of the recycled material, the different colour variations of the seat shells are interspersed with tiny specks of pigment.

Powder-coated base in white or dark suitable for outdoor use – store inside when not in use.
